Sosa Trading

Frequently asked questions

What importers usually ask before getting started.

How does importing from China with Sosa Trading work?

You tell us what you want to import and we handle the China side. Supplier sourcing and vetting, price negotiation, pre-shipment inspection, document checks, cargo consolidation and follow-up through to delivery. Our office in China covers every step and you get a report of what was done.

How do I know a Chinese supplier is trustworthy before paying?

With a supplier background check before any payment. We verify the company's legal existence in China, its history, and whether what it claims to manufacture matches what it actually produces. You get a report and decide on evidence, not on the seller's promise.

Do you inspect the goods before shipment?

Yes, and we always recommend it. Our team visits the factory before shipment and checks quantity, specification, finish and packaging against what was agreed. The photo report reaches you while the goods are still in China — while it can still be fixed.

Does Sosa have its own team in China?

Yes, our own office, staffed by Chinese and Brazilian colleagues. That is what lets us negotiate in Mandarin, visit the factory and solve problems in the supplier's own time zone, with no middleman in between.

What documentation do I need to import into Brazil?

To import into Brazil your company needs a CNPJ and Radar clearance from the Receita Federal. If you don't have it yet, we point the way and work alongside your customs broker. Depending on the product, certifications from the relevant agency also apply.

Do you handle customs clearance and logistics?

Yes. We support customs clearance and logistics follow-up through to delivery, working with the customs broker so the cargo leaves customs at the lowest cost and without avoidable delays.

What if my product requires certification?

That comes in together with product development. We have experience with Inmetro, Anvisa and IBAMA, among others, and adjust the product at origin so it leaves China already compliant. Far cheaper than discovering the requirement with the cargo already at port.

What languages does Sosa work in?

Portuguese, English and Mandarin. Negotiation with the supplier happens in Chinese and your account is handled in Portuguese — nothing is lost in a third party's translation.

I want to import from China. Where do I start?

Get in touch with as much detail as you have: the product, the quantity you have in mind and your deadline. From there we source suppliers, bring you prices and build the landed cost with you before you commit.
